Aims and Scope

An Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on optical and luminescence processes in Condensed Matter with applications.

The purpose of the Journal of Luminescence and Applications is to provide a common platform for researchers and scientists for communicating and publishing their research work in different disciplines and share a common interest in the field of luminescence, electronic excited states of atomic, molecular, ionic and complex systems, whether micro-, nanocrystalline, amorphous or liquid. Ideas and concepts related to either theoretical developments or a collection of experimental data offering some new insights are welcomed. The journal is an open access journal and intended for a broad spectrum of readership but the articles should also serve as introductions to areas of luminescence and related phenomena and especially valuable to students entering the field.

We invite short technological notes, original papers and reviews on the topics which include optical spectroscopy (absorption, Magnetic-optic studies, Raman scattering), all kinds of luminescence phenomena (e.g., thermally stimulated-, optically stimulated-, mechano-, electro-, cathodo- bioluminescence, etc.), luminescence materials (popularly known as phosphors) and their applications in science, technology and day-to-day life are welcome. In addition, phenomena related to electronic excited states, excited states of ions, impurities, clusters in host and composite materials, their radiative and non-radiative recombination, relaxation processes, opto-acoustic interactions, resonance phenomena and any other technique(s) related to spectroscopy, etc. The effects of high-energy radiations on solids and related luminescence phenomena would also be dealt with. The list is indicative and not exhaustive so papers to be accepted from any subject(s) should contain some genuine and novel result(s) of sufficient importance to justify publication(s) in a journal international repute.

All papers will be peer reviewed. Every effort will be made to ensure that submitted papers are acted on promptly with a deadline. CIP journals adopt a single-blind review policy. Authors do not know who the reviewers are. Typically, the review period is complete within 8 weeks. Short communications will be handled expeditiously.

We are working closely with many major databases to get the journal indexed and will gradually publish more index information of the journal.
